WHITEWHARF
The planet of Whitewharf, located in the eponymous Whitewharf System, was a mid-sized colony in the Ancerious Galaxy. With a population of 1.7 million, it primarily served as a hub for mining ventures along the relatively unimportant Magpie Nebula. It was governed by Hatamoto Alain Park.
GEOGRAPHYThe only habitable planet in the Whitewharf System, Whitewharf has a circumference of 35,000 kilometres, approximately three quarters of the planet being covered in water.
The ocean is highly acidic, and nearly neutral, making it hard for many species to survive. However specialised crustacean life and non-vertebrate species are known to exist. The air is heavy in CO2 and most homes and offices are equipped with ventilators to increase oxygen flow, but the atmosphere is sufficient to prevent death amongst humanoids. The planet boasts lowered gravity and |
rich mineral deposits. Although many root crops do not grow well, plants which benefit from acid soil, such as many berries and fruits, grow well on Whitewharf and it had a thriving export industry. The largest city on Whitewharf was Stakesby, with a population of roughly 900,000.
Other towns included Ruswarp and Saltwick, whilst overhead various private and public docks allowed for the refuelling and transit of mining, transport and passenger vessels.

ECONOMY
Whitewharf's primary industry was supporting the mining network out into the Magpie Nebula. The rich mineral deposits on the planet itself led to the establishment of several industrial centres for the creation of electronics, computers and other advanced hardwares. It also exported significant amounts of fruit.
DEFENSES
A small colony, it was only protected by a pair of capital ships, three orbital defense gun platforms, and a single FTLi ring several light-seconds from the planet itself. It had a standing garrison of one company of marines, alongside the 700-odd naval personnel and marines in orbit. It was overwhelmed and destroyed by Justicars of the Veronis Tribunal during the Battle of Whitewharf
