The following is an incomplete list of service personnel who have died in the line of battle serving the Jade Empire of Ingen or its predecessor states.
GENERAL YOSHI SEIHA - † 2428 AT
General Yoshi Seiha, born 2381 AT, was a decorated officer of the Soto Mo-Bushi who died during the Vong War He first enlisted in 2400AT and received several commendations for his conduct during the Invasion of Osean Federation. By the time of the Vong Wars, he was the commanding officer of the marine complement of the Shogunate Task Force Xochicalco. He personally led the detachment of two companies that fought in the Battle of Midnight's Tomb, and was killed in hand-to-hand fighting late in the engagement. |
ADMIRAL BUNTARO HIROHOTO - † 2428 AT
Admiral Buntaro Hirohoto, born 2374 AT, was a senior naval officer who died during the Battle over Xcaret upon arriving to reinforce Admiral Cornewaille. His first senior posting was in 2404 AT as the Executive Officer for the SNV Heavenly Spear, a Railgun Battleship that participated in the West Sarmenian Crisis. In 2428 AT he assumed command of the Oblivion-class destroyer SNV Beating Heart and led a squadron of Imperial Destroyers to support Admiral John Cornewaille. His squadron pursued the defeated Vong to the planet of Xcaret, where they were ambushed and overwhelmed. |
DAIMYO TOYOTOMI KATSUMOTO - † 2434 AT
Daimyo Toyotomi Katsumoto, born 2366 AT, was a leading noble of the Dinosaur Shogunate. In 2405 AT he committed his forces to support Shogun Kuribayashi against the pretender Yabu Yaemon. During the Trathiran Revolt, Daimyo Katsumoto personally led a force of sixty samurai in defense of the Jade Palace, allowing Takara Kuribayashi to escape. 'Katsumoto's Sixty', as they are known, fought to the last man on the steps of the Palace and in the foyer, inflicting a heavy toll on the attacking Reichsmiliz. His son, Yoshi Katsumoto, is currently the Fujin-Daimyo of Ingen District. |
ADMIRAL JOHN CORNEWAILLE - † 2456 AT
Born in 2377AT, Admiral John Cornewaille led the Shogunate Navy to victory against the Vong at the Battle of Xcaret, he was nevertheless held accountable for the defeat at Midnight's Tomb and was stripped of his rank. Admiral Cornewaille served with the Exiles and was reinstated by Jade Empress Takara herself, and by 2456 AT he was in command of the 4th Fleet when war erupted with the Barlat Concordiat. His fleet was dispatched to the Sol System and fought in the Battle of Sol. The 4th Fleet lost nearly 40% of its fighting vessels during the conflict. Admiral Cornewaille was killed when his Oblivion-class destroyer, the IJN Teotihuacan, was sunk fighting a rearguard action to allow the survivors of the 4th Fleet to withdraw. |
CAPTAIN SHIGERU MINOWARA - † 2481 AT
Captain Shigeru Minowara was an officer of the 4th Fleet and led the surprise assault on the Frankish 12th Armada at the Battle of Yamsai. His vessel, the IJN Pearl Bones, was sunk by the Frankish flagship DKS League's Bane in a close-quarters firefight, before elements of the 1st fleet could arrive to assist. FLAG ADMIRAL ZHANG YU - † 2484 AT
Admiral Zhang Yu was in command of the Ancerious Colony Fleet and was killed in action during a skirmish with UDS forces at the Sanrin System. |
ADMIRAL AYUKO SHOKUMINCHI - † 2481 AT
Admiral Ayuko Shokuminchi was the commanding officer of the 4th Fleet and led the fleet during the Battle of Yamsai. Her vessel, the IJN Teotihuacan, was crippled whilst attempting to roll up a Frankish battle line, as an enemy fightercraft crashed into the bridge, killing Admiral Shokuminchi. Admiral Zhang Yu's XO and captain of the IJN Junrei, Stefani Esposito was also killed during the skirmish at Sanrin System. DRAGON APEP - † 2485 AT

CAPTAIN SUN BIN - † 2485 AT
Captain of the IJN Door God of the 90th Chisong, he led a kamikaze attack during the defense of Texcoco System against overwhelming numbers of Franks. |
CAPTAIN NAGAO TOKINARI - † 2488 AT
Captain of the IJN Side Of White Sliced, he was killed when his ship was sunk at the Battle of Whitewharf |
