AKUGARA
Akugara are a sub-type of Frame built using a hardlight body. Modelled after the citizens of the Artificia Unanimity by Tony Idai, who worked closely with Ohuhri, a rescued Artifician, they are valued for their ability to provide essential light to the Yokari and Yokeneko population of the Jade Empire.
DESCRIPTIONMost akugara are closely after humans or Yokari, but like solid-matter Frames they can come in a range of forms. All akugara are monochrome, composed of light of varying shades of the same hue, with pink, green and blue being amongst the most popular colours.
Faintly transparent, their bodies are nevertheless fully corporeal and can affect and be affected by the world around them. Injuries cause fissures in the hardlight field that constitutes their outer skin, leading to energy loss and eventual sudden dissipation as their field reaches critically low levels and fails entirely. Injured akugara must have their field integrity restored and a subsumption of additional hardlight impulse energy to recover. Akugara require regular recalibration of their hardlight field, along with subsumptions of energy to recover that lost through movement and thermoregulatory activity, which typically is done nightly, but otherwise require no food, water |
or oxygen to survive. Like all other Frames, they are governed by the RAI Decree and limited in size and form to the constraints laid out by the Decree.
ORIGINS
The development of akugara was inspired by contact with the Artificia Unanimity, more colloquially known as glowies, in the Ancerious Galaxy. Artificially-created beings of pure hardlight, their effect on the photo-dependent species of the Jade Empire was marked and directly quantifiable.
