HOLONET
The HoloNet is the primary means of communication throughout the Empire. Information is directed along billions of massless hyperwave transcievers, buried in hyperspace. The information is routed through various emitter/reciever modules stationed on each planet and IJN vessel to reach their sometimes very distant destinations, utilising s-thread matrices. This technology enables data to be sent and received at speeds faster than light, ensuring near-instantaneous communication from one end of the galaxy to the other.
Information transmitted via the HoloNet is very difficult to intercept, thanks to the s-thread's incredibly narrow dimensions. The only effective way to intercept communications is to directly access an emitter-reciever device, and even then the necessary decoders are required for most military communications. Some military communications are made via subspace radio, which is far easier to intercept, but the encryptions must still be broken.
