KAISIGI-CLASS KANTAIMARU
The Kaisigi class of kantaimaru, or command ship, was introduced in 2485 AT as part of the Botas Reforms. Following advances in Artifical Intelligence technology and gravity technology, the Kokubusho determined that the existing line of warships developed during the Trathiran Revolt was outdated and was far too crew-intensive. The ship is named for Shogun Kaisigi Kuribayashi, who united the country of Ingen at the Battle of Hasunomichi.
DEVELOPMENTThe contract to design and build the Kaisigi class was put out for tender in 2481 AT following the Battle of Yamsai. Onohama Shipyards were awarded the contract, in a reverse of policy for the Imperial Jade Navy which typically awarded weapons developers the contracts and then allowed them to subcontract industrial firms. The first vessels of the Kaisigi class were deployed to active duty in early 2486 AT.
SPECIFICATIONSAdvances in automation allowed the Kaisigi class to have a much smaller crew, requiring only 500 crew for optimal operation, including 80 flight crew and 120 flight deck crew. The Range Ship is designed to act as a flagship and command centre for a New Model Fleet. It is equipped with a powerful IdaiTech Thunderhead TILT Generator, allowing it to extend multiple, co-ordinated FTLi

and gravity effects far beyond the range of regular warships. It also carries a comprehensive and powerful sensors and communications system, allowing it to harden the fleet against electronic warfare, and carries a reserve of eight dozen KanshoCorp drones to extend its sensory, FTLi and EW range. It also carries a dozen GoldStar drones for psychological and deception warfare operations.
Its onboard RAI has an extended hardware suite to allow it to process vast quantities of information and perform advanced analytics, as well as assisting to co-ordinate fleet fire control zones. Other Auxiliary systems include KanshoCorp Tractor Beams and an Arisaka Warchest Foundry System for equipment repairs and maintenance. In addition, the Kaisigi carries a full wing of 60 Senjin sentokitai and can carry a full platoon of marines, equivalent to 15 troops plus equipment, vehicles, and supplies
Offensive armaments include a prow-mounted Shamisen Resonance Caster to repel boarding attempts and punch holes in enemy ships at close range. Eight 912-LB railgun turrets provide coverage against light-to-medium vessels, fightercraft, shuttles and missile-torpedo analogues, whilst 22 IdaiTech Combination Vertical Launch Systems allow the launch of missiles such as the Atlatl MTM and the Micomitl ISM. Finally, 1800 Gyaku-Ko BDP emplacements provide short-range coverage against fighter craft, shuttles, corvettes and enemy munitions, providing a comprehensive network of fire to protect the ship.
