31ST REGIMENT
The 31st Icebear Regiment traces its roots to a warband that fought against the Vong during the occupation of Neusattar. Centered around the town of Lonnblad in Sattar, the Spears of Lonnblad fought a successful yet bloody campaign against the Vong. Although reprisal tactics left much of the area in ruins, the Spears launched a successful ambush in the town of Lonnblad saw nearly three hundred Vong warriors killed or captured, helping to tie up the occupation forces until the arrival of Shogunate relief forces.
Following the war, many of the veterans of the Spears of Lonnblad volunteered for the military, and they were used to form the core of the 31st Regiment. They were aboard the 24th Fleet Tokkaido during the Chapter Incident, and boarded the Chapter Flagship Seastorm before transporting the prisoners to Laptev for judgement. During the Trathiran Revolt, like most Neusattran units, they retreated to the planet of Neusattar and remained neutral until the fall of the Politburo. The 31st Regiment stormed the Saito shipyard, allowing friendly vessels to enter Laptev space. The regiment was deployed to Legacy as part of the campaign to annex and pacify the planet following the collapse of Czechanada. The regiment proved particularly successful at combating raider groups in the region, using fast-moving ground vehicles to traverse the large fern steppes of the planet. During the Barlat War, the 31st was deployed to Yorkshire where it saw frontline combat against the forces of Jovepenia and the Kingdom of Kira. The 31st fought a successful rearguard action, delaying the Concordiat advance until Theoden Seawatcher was able to marshal a counterattack at the city of York. The 31st joined the rest of the Imperial army for the Battle of York which was a decisive tactical and strategy victory for the Axis. During the Botas Reforms of 2486 AT, the regiment was renamed the Icebear regiment, in honour of the Neusattran Icebear, a large carnivore that haunts the northern pole and tundra regions. Its regimental parade colours are ice white and navy blue. The regiment was present during the Battle over Marchand, where it seized control of the Crossdock orbital facility and turned the platform's guns against the defending Great Marchander Guild of Commerce navy.
