RELIGION
The Jade Empire has two primary religions, Jade Shinto and Adfira, which have been subject to significant syncretism over the past century. Jade Shinto is practiced across the Empire and is an animistic, ritual-based belief system which regards the Jade Imperial family as demigods. Nearly 25 billion people across the Jade Empire self-report as Shintoists in annual censuses. Adfira is a pantheistic belief system and is the second-largest religion in the Jade Empire. It been suborned through syncretic processes to align with Jade Shinto, and the head of the pantheon Yolpathor, is considered by many to be the same deity as Rapuchefu.
Both religions, and the Jade Empire as a whole, are also affected by the Far Anomaly, a complex field of effect which means that conscious thought has a limited capacity to be physically manifested in the current plane using energy drawn from the Far. This enables the practical application of magic within a limited set of constraints.
