The Respite LAV is a versatile armoured transport vehicle in service with the Imperial Jade Navy. It is designed and built by Wernham-Hogg of the Jade Empire. It can be driven by a single marine, but ideally has a navigator and gunner in the passenger seat. It has space for three passengers in the rear of the cab and up to four in the open-top cargo bed at the rear.
The Respite LAV is lightly equipped with a coaxial 14mm coilgun firing Q-Cyl ammunition which can be remotely controlled from inside the cab. It also has a flare and chaff launcher for protection and is outfitted with an automated SilverBrig vehicle-mounted situational awareness and active protection hard kill system, which can intercept short-range and fast-moving projectiles such as AGMs. The Respite LAV utilises the light Dragonhide composite armour system, the exact design of which is unknown but is believed to include heavy umi-tetsu mesh ceramics, void-titanium angular plating and an elastic layer protecting it from kinetic impacts, baffling jet and shaped charges using a shatter gap and crack deflection, among other characteristics. A thin coating of superconducting vitredeur is overlaid on top which permits the armour to absorb and reduce the damage received from directed energy weapons. The Respite LAV uses a Wernham-Hogg A3 Hydrogen Cell Engine and has an operational range of 900 km off-road on internal fuel with a top speed of 120 kmph off-road. It has a powerful communications suite, and enjoys high survivability ratings with excellent crew escape characteristics. |
