The Raijin gyoraikitai, or Fast Attack Bomber, is the primary bomber craft of the Imperial Jade Navy. Designed and built as the GSAS-1050 Valkyrie long-range bomber by Gold Star Engineering of the Novakian Federation, the Kokubusho agreed an import program in 2488 AT to update its aging strategic fleet.
The import package model is known as the Raijin, and mounts two Ingenious-made repeating Noroi cannons for use against small-to-medium sized targets. It can carry up to 200 tonnes of ordnance, such as Air-To-Ground model Atlatl missiles, DPAM smart bombs and A11 Nuclear Munitions. Relying on simple fission-based thrust across one main and several subsidiary nacelles allows the Raijin to operate in both atmospheric and space conditions and gives it a limited VTOL capacity, although the increased demands of operating in atmosphere mean that the Raijin cannot mount a Faster-Than-Light drive, relying on nearby capital ships for inter-system transport. A Hardlight Profile Modifier system, installed as part of the Ingenious Service Extension Program, gives it additional maneuverability and defenses.
Equipped with a powerful PL-1 Fire Control Processor, it is capable of identifying targets and generating battlefield data, and can communicate with larger suites aboard capital ships to create a realtime contextual data overlay of the conflict zone. It has a series of stealth features to decrease detection range and a series of electronic and physical countermeasures provide defense from incoming enemy fire.
