A HISTORY OF INGEN
The Ingenious people have a long and legendary history. For thousands of years, the Jade Empire and its interim states, including the Kuribayashi Shogunate, has controlled the territory of Ingen and, in the last two centuries, has expanded to become an intergalactic power. Historians traditionally split the history of the Jade Empire into two distinct Ages, as outlined below.

Dates are given as either MT or AT in the Imperial Calendar, standing for Mae (before) and Ato (after) Teikoku, the date upon which Emperor Shussan is traditionally believed to have founded the Empire and the First Dynasty. The First Dynasty ended with Emperor Yoshihito, who became Emperor as an infant. A Clan Minowara regency protected Yoshihito's reign, but the First Dynasty was ended with the death of Emperor Yoshihito in 1207 AT during the Great Plague. Lacking any clear heirs, the Empire dissolved into civil war and was not restored until 2434 AT with the coronation of Jade Empress Takara.
