THE JADE PALACE
The seat of power of the Jade Empire, the original Jade Palace was constructed in the years following the founding of the First Jade Dynasty. It has stood ever since on the banks of the Tamanogawa river in the Imperial City and has continuously been expanded upon over the course of millennia. Home to almost a thousand servants and government officials, it is the formal residence of Jade Empress Takara. The palace and grounds cover 91 square kilometers of space and are guarded by the Royal Commandery 1st Regiment.
The Jade Palace is predominantly built in the Early Shogunate style, with straight rafters and triangular gables. Its roof tiles are made of jade coated in protective materials, whilst its walls are various kinds of wood lacquered in white. The grounds are studded with cherry trees, copses, artificial streams, ponds and gardens. Details of the palaces' security arrangements are classified, but include inbuilt shield generators and SAM defenses. |
THE THRONE ROOMThe Jade Throne, carved from a single giant block of exquisite jade, was originally constructed in the year 12 AT, and serves as the ceremonial seat of power in the Jade Empire. The Jade Empress sits in state here to receive international delegations, deliver judgements and promulgate imperial directives.
Access to the Throne Room is heavily restricted and, like the rest of the palace, is controlled by units of the Royal Commandery. |
