The IdaiTech T800 Graviton Lance, commonly known as the Razor or T800, is a beam weapon designed to provide fire support and anti-armour capability for Jade infantry. Developed by IdaiTech, the T800 relies on gravitational effect to distort its target. The average unit cost is 4,000 Jade Yen.
SERVICE
The T800 was developed in secrecy in the lead-up to the Barlat War. The war concluded before a stable prototype was achieved, and so the weapon first saw use in the Keystone System Campaign. Its unconvential design proved to be particularly effective against the various biological entities, colloquially known as 'demons', that were fielded by the Merger. The instant distortion of proteins in the body causes cell deterioration and a collapse of the thermo-regulatory system
DESIGN
The T800 fires a constant beam of agitated gravitons which, upon impacting any molecule, act upon the bond length of its component atoms, elasticizing them and allowing them to increase their degree of separation. This has the result of temporarily increasing the volume of the target material, typically by around 5%. For carbon-based lifeforms and many other beings this is almost instantly fatal. This effect also warps mechanical elements, causing permanent system failure and damage.
The Lance beam fired by the T800 propagates at effectively the speed of light. However, in atmosphere it typically loses cohesion and efficacy beyond the 900 metre mark. Within this maximum range, it manifests as a beam approximately 20 mm in width, a momentary blast of which is sufficient to permanently damage biological matter. The beam itself is not visible, but its effects are visible to the naked eye. Air appears to faintly shimmer under the increased pressure and agitation, whilst careful attention to any matter struck by the beam will reveal it appearing to 'swell'.
The T800 mounts a toprail for sights, a bipod for stability and a digital readout displaying weapon condition, remaining ammunition, and more. It is fed by a breechloaded ammunition system which loads single-use canisters into the action.
