TENSHI
BASIC OVERVIEW
The Tenshi are a magic-based species of quadrupedal reptilian and are believed to be representatives, or servants of, Rapuchefu, the great Dragon God who created them. They are typically between 6 and 9 metres in length and weigh 900 -1400 kg on average. Their hide is primarily covered in scales, typically iridescent, whilst they have a mane of thick hair running from their head down to their hackles. Their tails are also tipped with tufts of hair. Their four limbs end in three-digit appendages, all three of which are opposable and are tipped with short claws. Tenshi display a range of different colourations.
They have a single horn in the centre of their forehead, topped by a glowing orb known as an onibi. The strength of light emitted by these orbs represents the general vitality of the individual.
Tenshi naturally emit light which supports the biodependence of Yokari and Yokeneko on visible light. Tenshi appear to have no such dependency themselves. However, they are dependent on magical auras and without the presence of a leyline or magical artifact they may be forced to return to the Far.

EXTRA ABILITIES
Tenshi are capable of a form of flight by which they summon hardlight platforms directly beneath their feet, allowing them to run or walk through the air. Tenshi are almost all powerful in the redaction, or healing, school of magic. Each Tenshi also has an elemental aspect which allows them to perform limited creation magic related to their aspect, such as rain, fire or wind.
Tenshi, being larger than humanoids, are stronger and faster than them, but have poor eyesight. Their bond to the material plane can be disrupted by the use of iron.
Tenshi are known to be able to shapeshift into a mostly humanoid form, marked by clawed fingers, a tail and a row of spikes or horns running from the centre of their forehead and down their back.

BEHAVIOUR
Tenshi are typically pacifistic to a fault, despite their powerful physical statures and facility with magic. In confrontations they will typically attempt to frustrate any attempts at violence, or will simply depart the area. They spend much of their time in meditation and are known to engage in long, winding discussions on academic and spiritual topics which often run long past the physical endurance of Yokari and other humanoids.
Tenshi in the Ancerious Galaxy are believed to enter through the Tateyama megastructure. They typically reside only temporarily in the Near, preferring religious precincts and holy sites of Jade Shinto due to their reliance on magical leylines and auras, although they can also be found in the company of priests and other religious individuals whose personal connection to the Far, or the connection from their artefacts and trinkets, is strong enough to sustain the Tenshi's presence.
Tenshi are ranked in eight concentric Rings which encircle Rapuchefu himself. Each ring contains eight Tenshi more than the last, so that the First Ring contains eight Tenshi whilst the eighth contains sixty-four Tenshi. Those closest to Rapuchefu are the most powerful, and the aspects of Fire, Water, Light, Electricity, Space, Time, Passion and Earth inhabit the First Ring.
