SPUT
Sput is a toy production company based in Neusattar Province. It is best known for the manufacture of sput-brand toys, consisting mostly of interlocking brick toy systems. It has its own retail stores and also has several amusement parks, each known as sputzones.
Sput was founded by Fauler Klock, a Sattran woodcarver, in 2430 AT. Following the annexation of Neusattar by the Kuribayashi Shogunate, Klock recognised the huge impact the greatly advanced Shogunate technology and economic structure would have on the pre-industrial planet of Neusattar, and approached local authorities about funding and education to mass-produce his carved toys. Within a year, Klock Geschnitztespielzeughersteller Ltd had a large factory and was exporting Sattran-style toy knights, warriors, castles and creature playsets to Laptev and beyond. |
Following attempts to innovate with interchangeable weapons, parts and other accessories, K.G. Ltd caught the eye of a group of angel investors who suggested that he transition to using synthetic materials for his toys. After some experimentation, a durable and easily-dyed bioplastic was developed as an alternative, and with a large cash boost the company rebranded to sput, derived from the Sattran phrase 'spiel gut' meaning 'play well'.
The company began expanding its range and won a licensing deal with the then-unheard of Butterball Studios, who were developing the first installment of what would later become the popular RPG videogame franchise Prophecies of Harlaus. The buildable, customisable tie-in sets proved to be a hit and the popularity of sput skyrocketed.

Today, sput introduces dozens of new sets each year and holds many domestic and foreign merchandising licenses. Selling everything from blisterpacks of individual figurines to huge collector sets with thousands of pieces, sput has many popular lines including sput Village, sput Space Explorers, sput Construction, sput Classic, sput IIHL Hockey, sput Prophecies of Harlaus, sput Super Super Yoshi Dragon, sput Banners of Glory and many more.
Although primarily aimed at children aged 6-15, sput has an enduring popularity with fans of all ages, and lines for under-5's and complex display sets are produced specifically tailored to these markets. Antique, rare, and out-of-production sput sets can fetch staggering prices at market, with one sample of Set No. 6152 (Baron Hatchet And His Brave Knights) fetching nearly ¥ 5,000 at auction in 2486 AT. |
